What is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry equips people within our church family - called Stephen Ministers - to walk alongside those who are facing some type of crisis in life. Stephen Ministers provide confidential, one-to-one, Christ-centered care. Someone may seek a Stephen Minister to walk alongside them in a time of illness, death of a loved one, divorce, job loss, infertility, rehabilitation, etc.
What is a Stephen Minister?
A Stephen Minister is an everyday Christian - man or woman - who is trained to provide confidential one-to-one care to another person experiencing a difficult time in life. Stephen Ministers are people from all walks of life who share a passion for bringing Jesus Christ’s love and care to someone during a time of need.
What is a Care Receiver?
Care Receivers are people from our church family who receive care from a Stephen Minister. These are people who are struggling through a difficult time in life and would benefit from another person walking alongside them, providing encouragement and prayer. Men are matched with men, women with women.
When would I meet with my Stephen Minister?
A Stephen Minister provides care by meeting face-to-face with their Care Receiver once a week for about an hour. This support can be short-term or long-term, depending on the need.
